Jakob Maier is a writer, editor, and video artist.

He is the managing editor of Peach Mag.

He received his MFA in poetry from Syracuse University in 2018, where he was the editor-in-chief of Salt Hill Journal.

His chapbook BOX OF SWORDS was a finalist for Foundlings Press’s inaugural Wallace Prize, and was published as part of the Strays series in 2020.

He is the author of the microchapbook CONVERSATIONS (Ghost City Press, 2017).

He manuscript HAPPY HOUR IN THE DECLINE OF CIVILIZATION was the runner-up for the BOA Press’s 2021 A. Poulin, Jr. Poetry Prize and a finalist for the 2018 Metatron Prize for Rising Authors.

His poem “Alienation” was longlisted for the inaugural Ralph Angel Poetry Prize, judged by Mary Ruefle.
